The mindset you MUST-HAVE when Job Hunting.

The mindset you MUST-HAVE when Job Hunting. Let me start out by saying Job Hunting is hard, and it is a painful process. Sometimes, it is a lengthy process â€" it can take few weeks or months to secure a job.The process is hard on your psyche, your motivation, your self-esteem, etc. It does take a toll on you physically, mentally and emotionally. Trust me I have been there few times in my life.evalYou might be a New Graduate, OR you recently got laid-off / fired; OR you might have a job and you feel that you are not going anywhere OR your boss sucks. Whatever the reason, nobody likes to be in a situation where they need to look for a job.In this article, I want to talk about the mindset that you MUST have when JOB HUNTING. This mindset is more important ;it is something you must fix foremost before Job Hunting.OK- this will come out a bit insensitive, and yes it might hurt, but it is the truth. Do you want to know what the cold hard truth is?NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOU..The reasons we look for a job are totally personal and you wa nt a job for your own reasons such as:1. You hate your boss2. You want to make more moneyeval3. You want more growth opportunities4. You need money to pay the bills.5. You want something closer to home, and avoid commuting. And yes, these are all valid reasons, however the person/company hiring you does not care about any of this. Most of us, go with a needy or desperate mindset when looking for jobs. And hiring managers and organizations can smell desperation miles away.evalSo what are they looking for? What do they care about?WHAT’S IN IT FOR THEM?Companies do not hire employees out of benevolent reasons. They are concerned about their profits, sales, bottomline, etc. They want to know if the person they hire can do the job for them to help their company. And that is the Cold Hard Truth. The questions they are asking themselves during the hiring process, are ; ” Can this person do the job?” , ” Will this person be an asset to the organization?”, ” Can this person bring mo re customers to the organization?” , “Can this person help reduce operating expenses?”So now you know what they are looking for. So I strongly recommend that you change your mindset.Your goal when Job Hunting is to find an opportunity where you can add value to that organization or the hiring manager. It is about them. It is always about them.Adopt this mindset immediately. And project this mindset through the Job Hunting process. Project this on your cover letter, resume, your interviews. This will significantly improve your chances of securing a job you are looking for.CALL TO ACTIONevalDo a self-analysis on your skills and experience. After introspection, you must be able to ascertain what you can bring to the table. What is your track record? What are you good at? What is the benefit of the company hiring you? Why should they hire you? Once you have the answers, update your cover letters, resumes and also modify your interviews to answer these questions. You will see a signi ficant and positive difference in your Job Hunting. You will also be able to secure a role sooner than it would normally take you.All the best with your Job Hunting!!
